Gayla Meredith grew up in southern Manitoba and moved to Yellowknife in 1994 to begin a new career in education. Here she found a great outlet for her creativity and enjoyed her time in the classroom with students engaged in a variety of activities from building rainforests to bookmaking and publishing.
Creativity has long fed Gayla’s soul and lifted her spirit. For her, colour and unique creations keep life exciting, whether it’s designing scarves, making glassworks, writing her own books, or writing and bookmaking with children! She enjoys kayaking, snowshoeing, and and taking in the beauty of the North's midnight sun and northern lights!
Gayla lives in Yellowknife, NWT, a place she often refers to as 'Canada's best kept secret'. “Creativity feeds the soul and lifts the spirit – with this, all things are possible.” Gayla Meredith - Artist, Designer, Author, Educator – September 2010
