Rita Baton

Artist Bio: 

Rita learned beadwork and to make traditional clothing from her late mother and other elders in her community. She has been creating art since she was a teenager, and is inspired to create because of her mother, Theresa Baton.

Rita uses traditionally tanned moose and caribou hide to make clothing for friends and family. She enjoys spending time beading and putting together vests, using clolorful designs on her pieces.
