Shawna Lampi-Legaree

Artist Bio:

Shawna Lampi-Legaree is a self-taught artist who lives in and is inspired by Canada’s north, and who shares her passions through watercolour and textile art.

For many years Shawna concentrated on quilting, specializing in art quilts with environmental and political themes reflecting her deep concerns for the current state of our world. Many of Shawna’s quilts have been juried into national and international shows. The intensity of the themes is highlighted by her exquisite and beautifully executed quilting.

More recently Shawna has turned her attention to watercolour and is having a blast working with her less serious side. She delights in producing clouds of colour in florals, as well as still life images which range from traditional to playful. As her friend Barb says ”The flowers are so real I can smell them.”
