REAL TO REEL: THE CRAFT FILM FESTIVAL 

Craft has a very special relationship with film. Craft on film can be hypnotic, surprising and magical.  The resurgence of interest in craft has resulted in a host of beautiful and interesting new films on the topic.

Iceolation 2016 Call for Artists

 

The 10th annual Iceolation Art Show opens March 19th at the Snowcastle then moves to the Down to Earth Gallery from March 20-26.

 

Any artist, creating in any medium can submit work with an icy, snowy, or wintery theme.  This is going to be Down to Earth's FINAL Iceolation Art Show so if you ever had an idea to submit this is the year.

YK ARCC presents: Neil Dyck - Artist in Residence

 

Through the support of the NWT Arts Council the Yellowknife Artist-Run Community Centre will welcome painter Neil Dyck for a two weeks residency starting Tuesday, February 16th, 2016.

YELLOWKNIFE (February 11, 2016) – The Northwest Territories (NWT) film industry is receiving major international exposure at one of the world’s most prestigious short film festivals thanks to the work and talents of two of its longtime ambassadors.

NWT On-The-Land Collaborative Fund

 

What is the NWT On-The-Land Collaborative Fund (OTL Collaberative Fund)?

The Fund was created to promote and support on-the-land initiatives in the NWT by providing easier access to funding and other resources. There is a lot of interest in on-the-land programs, but finding the money to run these programs can be a lot of work for communities and organizations that have to apply to many different places to get the funding and support they need.

 The Accidentals are a newly formed Yellowknife-based a cappella group that are looking for a bass/baritone to round out their group. They meet to rehearse every Thursday evening at 7:30pm and perform a wide range of music.
