Dedicated to preserving the culture and heritage of the Inuit, Inuvialuit, Dene and Metis, and non-aboriginal peoples of the Canadian Arctic and Subarctic. The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre houses the territorial museum, the Northwest Territories (NWT) Archives, and provides many heritage services and programs for the NWT communities. The Centre's Permanent Collection of approximately 100,000 objects and specimens, represents the history of the aboriginal and non-indigenous peoples, the flora and fauna, and the geology of the NWT.
